HOW TO LOCK THE FOLDER IN COMPUTER ?

There are several ways to lock a folder on a laptop, depending on the operating system you're using:

 

1. Windows:

-Create a new folder and name it whatever you like.

-Right-click on the folder and select "Properties."

-Click on the "Security" tab.

-Click on "Edit" and then "Add."

-Type in "Everyone" and then click "OK."

-Under "Permissions for Everyone," un-check the box that says "Full control" and then click "OK."

-Close the Properties window.

-After that, go to "Advanced" option and check the "Encrypt contents to secure data" checkbox, and press Apply then OK.

Now your folder is encrypted and protected with a password.

       2. MacOS:

-Create a new folder and name it whatever you like.

-Right-click on the folder and select "Get Info."

-Under the "Sharing & Permissions" section, click the lock icon in the bottom-right corner to make changes.

-Enter your admin password when prompted.

-Click the plus button to add a user or group.

-Select "Everyone" from the list of options and then select "No Access" from the Privilege drop-down menu.

-Close the Info window.

Third-party software:

There are a number of third-party software available to lock folder on your laptop, such as Folder lock, My Lockbox, and Wise Folder Hider. These software have the ability to password-protect a folder, as well as to encrypt its contents.

It's worth noting that while these methods can protect a folder from casual snoops or accidental access, they may not be completely secure against a determined attacker with advanced knowledge and tools. Additionally, depending on the method you choose, in case if you forget your password or lose access to the folder, you may be locked out permanently, so it's important to create a backup of the important files before you start.
